If you know kids like mine, they could eat and sleep in playdough. Directly if you are like me, you cringe when they ask to play with information technology. It gets everywhere, on the stun, in the carpeting, in their apparel, in their mouth. Just they love to play with information technology and it's a very creative outlet.

I came up with a solution for part of the playdough problem when I was teaching Kindergarten a few years back. I wanted to carry through at least my tables from acquiring ground in dough, and so I had the children make placemats.

You could honourable use a regular cold placemat from the store or I take over utilised a silicon gym mat which works great, but how much more fun is acting with playdough on your own successful placemat?

Take out any sturdy art newspaper publisher, or I purpose 12×12 Cardstock report, and have the kids draw out, place stickers, or glue images and designs along the paper. They can add any sort of trimmings or extras. When they are done, take information technology to a Re-create Center, alike the UPS Store, and stick it laminated. It may cost from $.50 to $1.50 per understructur, so IT may be up to $1-3 per place mat, dependent on how big you come through. (You can buy Ego-laminating report from a craftsmanship store, but information technology is not as loggerheaded and sturdy.)

Now the kids can use it as their playdough placemat. The placemat can Be used for many other things as well, like using markers or crayons to keep your remit, or yet for dinner. You could also decorate their placemat with letters or numbers, or other educational things, or even a big picture of your kinsperson. Ours are image-sided with their names connected the movement and numbers game connected the back.

Here is the best recipe ever for home-cured playdough. I brawl like regular store bought playdough, but this recipe is so easy, that I make it Sir Thomas More much than I think to grease one's palms it at the computer memory.

Play Dough Recipe (this tin can be halved for smaller Ball)

2 c. Flour
½ c. Salt
2 c. Piddle
2 T. Vegetable Oil
¼ c. Cream of Tartar (found in spice section)

Pour all ingredients into a large saucepan. Nutrient color can be added Here if desirable, 5-7 drops. Turn to med-high heat and stir perpetually until the mix becomes very warm and starts to form together, nigh 3-5 proceedings. Do not over heat, it wish burn. Continue stirring until the mixture forms into a playdough ball. Remove from heat and decant ball onto a rise paper sheet. Let cool for a couple of minutes and then knead until soft, 2-3 transactions. Food coloring can also be added during the kneading march A advantageously, peculiarly if you want to split the dough and function 2 or more colours. I suggest wearing baggies concluded your hands if doing this. Store your caper dough in a ziplock bag and in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 months, or until little white spots develop.
